Facebook is going to make its Facebook Dating service available in Europe in early 2020, the company announced on Thursday on its blog.
With the dating service, Facebook users can create a separate dating profile and be linked to other Facebook Dating users. Users can indicate their interest in someone else by leaving a comment or by pressing a find button on the profile.
Facebook will not select potential dates from the friends list of users. An exception to this is the so-called Secret Crush. Users of up to nine Facebook friends or Instagram followers can indicate that they like them. If that is mutual, a match is created.
For the time being, Facebook Dating can only be used in North and South America and in a number of countries in Southeast Asia.
