Hyundai is working on a robotic exoskeleton in the shape of a vest to relieve heavy work above the head.

The robot vest imitates the movements of the joints and supports the wearer with a heavy load. This increases physical strength and reduces fatigue.

Hyundai has developed the vest for production employees who mainly perform work above their heads, such as mounting parts on the underside of the car. The vest was tested in two factories in the US where it is now used as standard by employees. At the end of this year Hyundai wants to put the vest on the market.

In addition to the robot vest, Hyundai comes with another robotic exoskeleton. The also portable product supports the wearer's knees, back and muscles so that they can take a sitting position, without a chair or stool.
