On the night of August 22-23, two men and three friends at Place Carnot were attacked by a group of six young men speaking about their homosexuality.

Two minors aged 15 and 17 were to be presented Saturday to a juvenile judge for a homophobic assault targeting two men eight days ago in downtown Nancy, the prosecutor said.

They are suspected of "violence in meetings aggravated because of the sexual orientation of the victims," said François Pérain, public prosecutor in Nancy, confirming information from the daily L'Est Républicain. A third minor will be presented later to a juvenile judge for the same facts.

On the night of August 22-23, two men and three friends at Place Carnot were attacked by a group of six young men speaking about their homosexuality.

One of the men had been hit by a stick, then received "several punches in the face given by several individuals of the opposing group," said François Pérain. By interposing himself, the second man had been struck too. The two victims, who lodged a complaint, were issued one-day and two-day ITTs.

Five minors and a major were placed in custody Thursday at the premises of the Departmental Security. The youngest of the alleged perpetrators, aged 15, is already known to the judiciary and followed by the judicial protection of youth, according to the prosecutor. The other three were released without charges being brought against them.
