The suspect identified 80 police and gendarmes by searching online. He owned their name, personal address and photographs.

A 46-year-old man was arrested in the Puy-de-Dôme for death threats against police and was locked Sunday due to the revocation of a previous reprieve, AFP learned Monday from parquet.

Arrested Saturday in Mazoires, in the Puy-de-Dome, and presented in immediate appearance the next day, this forty-year-old "with a significant psychiatric past, was in possession of several dozen names, personal addresses and photographs of police and gendarmes", told AFP the Clermont-Ferrand public prosecutor Eric Maillaud.

Already sentenced for death threats

The suspect told an acquaintance living in Bordeaux "to hate the police and want to kill police," said the prosecutor. This woman worried about other people and these exchanges culminated last Thursday in the opening of a survey of the public security department of Loire-Atlantique. Emergency checks were carried out and the suspect was quickly located in Puy-de-Dôme. The file was then sent to the Clermont-Ferrand public prosecutor's office.

"Given the alarming profile of the suspect, who has already made several stays in psychiatric hospital, and the current climate vis-à-vis the police, we have accelerated things to avoid a tragedy," said Éric Maillaud. In the home of the forty-year-old has been found "a lot of literature to the Nazi ideology".

The incarceration of the suspect is not directly related to the current proceedings but due to the revocation of a previous suspension of six months of imprisonment, already for death threats, this time from an individual . The investigation, entrusted to the research section of the gendarmerie of Clermont-Ferrand, continues to better identify the ideological profile and the real intentions of the suspect.
