A 46-year-old man was arrested in the Puy-de-Dôme for death threats against police and was locked Sunday due to the revocation of a previous reprieve, AFP learned Monday from parquet.

The suspect told an acquaintance living in Bordeaux "to hate the police and want to kill police," said the prosecutor. This woman worried about other people and these exchanges culminated last Thursday in the opening of a survey of the public security department of Loire-Atlantique. Emergency checks were carried out and the suspect was quickly located in Puy-de-Dôme. The file was then sent to the Clermont-Ferrand public prosecutor's office.
"Given the alarming profile of the suspect, who has already made several stays in psychiatric hospital, and the current climate vis-à-vis the police, we have accelerated things to avoid a tragedy," said Éric Maillaud.
