Informal cuisine based on a remarkable product is the gastronomic proposal of Miguel Grande on the gaditana beach of La Barrosa

Not satisfied with running, along with his brothers Fernando and Alicia, Los Galayos , almost unanimously recognized as the best restaurant in Madrid's Plaza Mayor, Miguel Grande has been spending summers for some time (until this year, hand in hand with several partners, to from now on, alone) to direct a spectacular beach bar (although in these times of papanatismo there will be someone who calls it a beach club) in the equally spectacular Atlantic beach of La Barrosa . Live music, cocktails and unstoppable sunsets are some of its attractions, but here we are interested in gastronomy. An informal and pleasant gastronomy in which the product, mainly from the area, plays a fundamental role.

This is the case with the homemade salad with shrimp, which provide a curious set of textures, as well as flavor; Conil's tomato salad with canutera melva and kalamata olives (tasty, but it would be appreciated if it arrived fresh, not at room temperature); the tuna tartare prepared (accompanied by a very powerful wasabi) or the impeccable and very clean fritters of dogfish marinade and choco the gaditana.

There are some winks to the capital's mother house, such as the Iberian torreznos and the tiptoys with poultry eggs and peppers of two colors and some concessions to the less gourmet public, such as a couple of pasta dishes and the inevitable hamburger, in this case of Retinta There is also a rice chapter, which was left for another occasion. The wine list is above what you would expect from a beach bar (although the generous section could be taken care of more ...) and the service strives to please, arduous task at rush hour.
