The 'Instructor's Act' was implemented after eight years of labor to improve the treatment of instructors. However, there are cases where the school makes it difficult for graduates to reduce the number of lecturers and eliminate lectures in consideration of the increased cost.

I have a college student in front of my semester and a school in front of me, but I can't find a way to complete the remaining graduation requirements.

[University 4th grader: I checked in the department office and it wasn't opened due to revision of the Instructor Law… (If you take another class) You can still graduate, but the subject is not increasing. ]

Until January, the university said it would open the course in the second semester, but the language suddenly changed last month ahead of the implementation of the Instructor Law.

If you do not complete the course, you will be late for graduation and miss the employment season.

The school said it will open an additional class so that students can take alternate courses later.

The so-called Instructor Law, which was implemented on the 1st of last year, guarantees instructors the employment period of one year or more and up to three years through screening.

The purpose is to improve the treatment of university lecturers by paying wages and retirement pay during vacations.

The problem is that colleges are hurting not only the instructors but also the number of classes due to the increased costs.

In fact, at Ewha Women's University, the number of students required to take classes is reduced by over one-third of the required writing class.

[Lee Min-ha / Ewha Womans University President: If you are late for registration or just talk about something… If the class is written like this, the school says it's because of the teaching method. ]

In the last semester, just before the implementation of the Instructor Law, the total number of courses has decreased by 6,600 from the previous year.

In addition, as the number of instructors decreased, the percentage of full-time faculty, or professors, was increased.

[4 years private academy director: the hardest thing is finance. With this structure, we will try to reduce the instructors. Otherwise, you may be criticized as an incompetent president.]

It is a law designed to improve the quality of education, and the damage to students is increasing as the university tries to keep up.
