Six men and a woman were arrested Thursday in Paris. They are notably suspected of robbing PSG players Thiago Silva and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Seven people suspected of having participated in robberies of two PSG footballers in December 2018, for damages of several hundreds of thousands of euros, were arrested Thursday, learned Friday AFP source close to the investigation.

Six men and a woman, aged 25 to 29 years, were arrested by the Brigade of repression of the banditism (BRB) in Paris, in Seine-Saint-Denis and in the Hauts-de-Seine, according to this source. One of them was already incarcerated, the source said. They are suspected in all five burglaries "in the beautiful neighborhoods" of the capital. The last one dates back to the night of August 20th to 21st. A member of the Saudi royal family, missing from his 6th arrondissement apartment, was stolen jewelry and luxury watches for an estimated 1.8 million euros. The BRB investigators also suspect them of burglary in the same street a few days earlier.

Silva and Choupo-Moting burglars

The team is also the author of two burglaries a few days apart in late December 2018 in two players PSG, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Thiago Silva. On December 22, the Brazilian defender was burgled at his home in the sixteenth arrondissement while playing a game against Nantes. The damage was assessed at 600,000 euros. Two days later, his teammate, Cameroon striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who was in turn victim of a burglary at his Paris home for damage estimated at one million euros. Again, the thieves had taken advantage of PSG playing against Liverpool to break into the footballer's apartment.

The seven people, already known to the police for burglaries, have been placed in police custody. Jewelery, luxury leather goods, money and weapons were found during searches at their homes.
