Bose presented a portable speaker on Friday. The Portable Home Speaker works with WiFi and Bluetooth and also offers support for various voice assistants.
The speaker can handle Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Music can also be played via AirPlay 2 from Apple and via Spotify Connect.
A handle is attached to the speaker to carry the device. The design is cylindrical, much like the 2017 Bose speaker SoundLink Revolve. This makes sound from each side of the speaker.
According to Bose, multiple speakers can be connected to each other, for example, to have music played in different rooms in the house. Older speakers from Bose can also be linked to this later this year. Next year an option for stereo sound will be added.
Bose speaker not yet in the Netherlands
The Portable Home Speaker uses USB-C to charge the battery. The speaker lasts twelve hours on a full load. The device will cost $ 349, converted to 315 euros. It is not clear when he will appear in the Netherlands and an official Dutch prize is still unknown.
Bose's announcement comes before Sonos presents its bluetooth speaker. That company is reportedly coming next week with its own portable speaker, the Sonos Move.
