Google would be planning to release a successor to the smart Home Mini speaker this year, which may be called the Nest Mini. This is reported by 9to5Google based on anonymous sources.
The small speaker would hardly differ in shape from the current Home Mini. That means the speaker stays flat and round. He may be slightly larger. The speaker is meant to be able to use the Google Assistant speech assistant in various places in the house.
The Nest Mini can allegedly be hung on the wall. In addition, the audio quality, especially the bass sound, is improved according to sources and the maximum volume would be increased.
Furthermore, a connection of 3.5 millimeters is expected, although it is unclear exactly what Google wants to use it for. It may be possible to connect a device or the Nest Mini can send audio to other devices.
A proximity sensor would also be added, so that the speaker registers when someone passes by or is standing in front of it. It is not clear what the added value is.
The new speaker may be announced during a Google event in the fall. According to 9to5Google , the speaker will not rise in price and will continue to cost around 50 euros.
