Audi is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its sporty station wagons in RS version with the new RS6 Avant. The car will get 600 hp, but Audi promises that the model is also more efficient than its predecessor.
The V8 petrol engine with two turbos receives support from a mild hybrid technology. This allows braking energy to be recovered, which can then be used to allow the car to roll off the engine for 40 seconds without driving. The system can also start the engine faster.
In addition, the V8 engine is equipped with a cylinder shut-off. If low performance is required, the power source can run on four cylinders. However, the RS6 is about high performance.
Higher top speed against payment
Audi reports that the new RS6 Avant speeds up to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.6 seconds. The 200 kilometers per hour is reached after 12 seconds. The top speed of the car is limited to good German use at 250 kilometers per hour.
With the optional dynamic package this can be increased to 280 kilometers per hour. If you check the dynamic package plus, you will achieve a top of 305 kilometers per hour with the RS6 Avant.
The new model can be recognized by the wider body, 22-inch wheels and a differently drawn front. According to Audi, all RS models will eventually get a similar design.
Under the skin, Audi installs adaptive air suspension, four-wheel steering and a differently adjusted steering system. The new RS6 Avant will be at dealers in the first quarter of next year.
