Gangwon's East Coast Beach closed most of the time after last weekend. However, there are still many vacationers enjoying the sea, and lifeguards are almost withdrawn, so there is a high risk of accident.

Yesterday (19th) afternoon, the beaches of Gyeongpo Beach and tubers are floating in the sea.

After being pushed to the sea in the distance, he was rescued safely by guards and crew from the nearby police station, but it almost resulted in death.

Only 11 people were distressed in three places including Gangneung Gyeongpo and Donghae Chuam yesterday.

All of these beaches have been closed since last Sunday.

Samcheok's beach has been visited by hundreds of visitors since its closing on the 18th.

However, there are no lifeguards, so it is difficult to respond quickly if an accident occurs.

[Respondent: I never cared about (there is no safety guard). I never thought it was dangerous in itself. You know how to play safely. ]

Some local governments continue to deploy safety personnel to closed beaches for some time, but they are far shorter than when they operate.

Gyeongpo Beach has reduced to 70 security personnel, and Samcheok plans to deploy only 8 lifeguards in 8 places, with 81 people in 15 places.

[Community beach manager: People usually come a lot on weekends, so there is a high risk of accidents, so we try to deploy it on a limited budget. ]

Marine police can't stop defendants except in bad weather such as storm warnings.

Since 2016, 62 people have been rescued and 4 people have been killed in a safety accident following the closing of the beach on the east coast of Gangwon.
