The signature campaign, which began on the 15th of this month, attracted more than 7,000 people, including 1,600 students from Seoul National University and 500 graduates.

SNU professors also joined the movement.

Woo Hee-jong, a veterinary professor who participated in the signing campaign, wrote in a Facebook article, "The poor environment and lack of space of workers at Seoul National University is basically because of the faculty."

A memorial space was set up in the aisle of the Seoul National University Library in memory of the dead cleaning workers.

The bulletin board in the memorial space has post-it notes that say, "I wish you the best of the deceased", "I will make a society where people do not die while working," and "I hope you will rest cool and comfortable."

After the accident, Seoul National University decided to set up a dedicated team to investigate the situation of resting spaces for on-campus facility workers in the cleaning, security, and mechanical and electrical fields.

In addition, the headquarters will establish the guidelines for rest space standards and recommend that individual colleges implement them.
