Margot Robbie brings the mythical actress Sharon Tate to life in Quentin Tarantino's ninth film 'Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood'

Once upon a time ... in Hollywood: Tarantino's most personal film, a masterpiece

Leonardo DiCaprio: "I live in a constant state of nostalgia"

Brad Pitt: "Tarantino is a purist"

The Australian actress (Dalby, Queensland, 1990) gives life to the mythical actress Sharon Tate , muse and wife of the filmmaker Roman Polanski, who was killed 50 years ago by members of the Charles Manson sect in one of the most terrifying crimes that have shaken the world of cinema and the United States. In the Tarantino movie we see the Tate / Polanski couple at their best, on top of Hollywood.

How much enthusiasm makes you participate in a Quentin Tarantino movie? It is something that I still have trouble believing, since it is a dream come true. It has always made me very excited to see him work, so I would have accepted any piece of paper once upon a time in ... Hollywood . And, in fact, I went to the shooting even some days that I didn't have to act, for the pleasure of being there. Is it as I had imagined? It's funny, because whenever I saw myself in a Tarantino movie I imagined myself carrying weapons and getting into fights, and here is the opposite. How do you see the spoiled Sharon Tate, her character? someone who is enjoying his moment in Hollywood and who appreciates all that it offers. And I remember feeling the same when I could finally dedicate myself to what I really liked. So, somehow, I relived that feeling through the character of Sharon Tate. And something similar happened to my co-star, the Polish actor Rafal Zawierucha, who gives life to Roman Polanski, who suddenly saw himself making his first movie in Hollywood by the hand of none other than Quentin Tarantino. It's what I felt when I worked on The Wolf of Wall Street .

And how was the experience of shooting a movie whose action takes place half a century ago? It has been incredible, for the attention to detail and the love that Quentin has for truthfulness. Many times in this profession we have to pretend that something is not real, using our imagination. But it was not the case here. I really felt at Los Angeles in the late 60s. Even the cars that appeared on the other side of the highway were! How would you compare the current moment with that time? I don't know, just before people didn't do so many things at once. These days we have access to too much information that, although it has its advantages, on the other hand it also distracts too much. Before there was a great expectation before the arrival of a certain film, while now it seems that, as there is so much to choose from, it still affects us less. In one scene, Tate gets into a movie theater to enjoy a film of his with public. Have you ever done something like that? It's funny, because when I saw this movie with an audience in Cannes I realized that I was experiencing something similar to what my character is living at that time. It was something I will never forget.
