This kind of recklessness took full advantage of a professional thief, equipped with a master key - such as postal workers or delivery men - allowing him to open the mailboxes of buildings. As soon as he found a bunch of keys, he visited and robbed the apartment. This multi-recidivist also searched the mail and sometimes discovered bank cards, which he carefully noted the numbers to then offer online hotel nights or stays abroad, according to information collected by Europe 1.
More than 100,000 euros of injury
In total, this man has committed more than 70 burglaries and hacked dozens of payment cards for more than 100,000 euros in damages. In search, the police officers of the Parisian territorial security found many stolen objects and even the keys of some apartments robbed several times.
If the victims were sometimes imprudent, the thief has also made a mistake. He was confused by his fingerprints, carelessly left on the scene of one of his misdeeds. Arrested, placed in custody, he was brought to justice on the day of his 50th birthday. He has already been arrested and sentenced for multiple crimes. This case comes as the number of burglaries has risen significantly since the beginning of 2019 in Paris (+ 10%).
