A child died Tuesday in the Yvelines after the car in which he was with his mother and sister was crushed by a truck-top, which overturned for a reason still unknown, AFP learned from sources concordant.

The accident occurred at 10:25 am on a departmental road at a junction in the town of Bazoches-sur-Guyonne, near Pleasure, according to gendarmes and firefighters. The eight-year-old boy was rescued while he was undergoing cardio-respiratory arrest but quickly succumbed, according to the same sources. His mother and thirteen-year-old sister, who also had to be extricated, are seriously injured and were evacuated in the late morning to hospitals in the Paris region but their vital prognosis is not engaged, according to the gendarmes.
