On December 12, the Ministry of Education announced a plan to take the College Scholastic Ability Test with 'Integration of Literature and Science', but in the entrance examination industry, it is not a practical literary and integrative SAT.

On this day, the Ministry of Education announced a basic plan of how the 2022 SAT will be organized by high school students.

As announced in August last year, being able to choose subjects without distinction between the two is the key to change.

In the area of Korean language and mathematics, a common course and elective course system are introduced. In the field of social and scientific research, two courses are selected among 17 courses.

However, officials of the entrance examination industry said that the purpose of the integrated literacy test has already faded.

The elective industry's analysis is that the elective course in Korean language is actually defined as 'calculation and writing', the elective course in mathematics as 'calculus' or 'geometric', and the 'probability and statistics'.

The field of inquiry will be divided between social sciences and science.

The main reason is that major universities in Seoul early designated subjects as requiring natural subjects to select specific subjects in mathematics and inquiry.

To date, according to the announcements of each university, students in natural sciences must choose Calculus or Geometry to apply to eight schools including Kyung Hee University, Korea University, Sogang University, Seoul University, Sungkyunkwan University, Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Chung-Ang University. In the area of inquiry, you must choose 2 subjects only as a science inquiry.

Under the 2022 CSAT, students in natural sciences can choose 'probability and statistics' in the mathematics field or social studies in the field of inquiry, but they cannot.

As a result, science students are likely to choose calculus or geometry, and students are naturally driven by probability and statistics.

Lee Man-gi, director of the Institute for Educational Evaluation, said, "There are many more calculus candidates during the calculus and geometry, but there will be a lot of geometric test takers." Is expected. "

In the case of the humanities, no school has announced a designation plan that requires specific courses to date.

However, even if the humanities students are confident in mathematics, the choice of calculus or geometry is dangerous.

Seong-ho Lim, CEO of Sky Education, said, “It is a ratio of 75 electives to 25 common subjects, but even if the ratio of electives is low, the decision is made at 25%.” No matter how top-level humanities students can choose calculus or geometry. I don't see why. "

In the case of elective courses in the Korean language field, most of the students, including the top students, will choose 'speaking and writing'.

Selecting 'language and media', which is more difficult to include because of the grammar, may be more advantageous in the standard score if it scores high, but there is a risk of losing at the lowest level of the SAT when one or two problems are missed. because of.

In the area of inquiry, it was possible to cross-choice social and scientific subjects one by one, but experts say there are currently no incentives for candidates to make such choices.

It is analyzed that it would be unfortunate for foreign high school and international high school students to switch their second foreign language / Chinese area to absolute evaluation.

Lee Young-deok, director of the Daesung Institute for Academic Development, said, “If the top-level students who study second languages ruined a subject in social exploration, they replaced it with a second foreign language or a Chinese language. Will eliminate it. "

In the second foreign language field where there are few test takers such as Arabic, the so-called 'special course lotto' phenomenon, which was rated 4 ~ 5, will disappear.
