A third suspect of the hack on the Bulgarian tax authorities was again detained on Thursday. At the hack in June, information from about five million Bulgarians was captured.
The man, Ivan Todorov, was arrested at Sofia airport last week and released on bail. He has been re-secured because he would pose a danger on his own.
The suspect, who denies being guilty, is the owner of the Bulgarian IT company Tad Group. According to prosecutors, recordings show that Todorov has discussed the hack on the Bulgarian tax authorities by telephone. Shortly after the hack, the police seized computers from the Tad office.
In July, two employees of the IT company were charged with terrorism on suspicion of involvement in the hack. They have been released, but cannot leave Bulgaria.
