Yesterday (6th), the explosion fire at Anseong factory where one fireman was killed and 10 people were injured did not fully evolve until dawn today. It is estimated that the accident was caused by chemicals stored on the ground floor of the building. Investigations have been made as to what caused the explosion.

The factory, which burned with the explosion, was built in 2008 on two floors above ground and one underground.

The owner of the paper box used the second floor, and the ground and basement floors were each leased by another company and used as warehouses.

In particular, the first basement where the explosion occurred was reported to have stored chemicals by the tenant.

[Police official: It is also a lease warehouse (basement 1st floor). So it's a company that rents and comes in and loads things elsewhere.]

Residents say they were mistaken for chemical plants because they only saw special vehicles carrying chemicals.

[Nearby: It was like a ghost company. Anyway, I think it's been quite a while when some cars like gas cars go in.]

The fire authorities said yesterday that a volatile semiconductor cleaner had been stored underground, but they confirmed that it was a semiconductor abrasive that was less likely to ignite.

So fire and investigators are focusing their investigations to find out what material was causing the explosion.
