Alerted by suspicious noises, a resident of Indre-et-Loire called the gendarmerie at 6am.

An inhabitant of Saint-Branchs, in Indre-et-Loire, called the gendarmerie at 6 am Thursday, after hearing screams for help. But the noise that the man had heard was actually ... the song of a rooster, reports France Bleu.

"All the charm of country life"

While he had heard disturbing cries several times, the resident dialed 17 to warn the gendarmerie. His interlocutor, intrigued by the noise, then asked him to stand near his window to hear them better. And the gendarme soon realized that it was only the song of a rooster, probably installed in a house nearby. "All the charm of life in the countryside and no intervention this time for gendarmes," responded the police on its Facebook page.
