Amazon is working on a higher-quality smart Echo speaker, Bloomberg reports based on insiders. The speaker should come on the market next year.
Anonymous sources report that the speaker is slightly wider than the current Echo speaker. That is because more parts are being processed to improve audio quality. For example, at least four tweeters would be present for the reproduction of treble.
Bloomberg reports that the Amazon speaker has recently lost market share due to the arrival of the Sonos One, Apple's HomePod and the Google Home Max. These speakers all promise high quality audio.
The Amazon Echo works with voice assistant Alexa. For example, users can request music and the weather forecast. The assistant does not yet work with the Dutch language.

Home robot Vesta runs on wheels
Amazon would also work on a home robot that is called the Vesta within the company. The robot drives on wheels according to sources and also listens to voice commands via Alexa.
The first news about the home robot appeared in April last year. According to Bloomberg insiders, the device is not yet ready to be produced on a large scale. Prototypes would be around 1 meter in size and could navigate themselves thanks to built-in smart cameras.
