Employees of telecom manufacturer Huawei have cooperated in the past ten years on projects for the Chinese army. Bloomberg reports that.
It concerns at least ten projects of the Chinese army in which Huawei employees were involved. This concerns projects related to artificial intelligence and radio.
Bloomberg discovered the collaboration in research publications, which showed that the employees did research for the army. The authors mentioned at the top of the publications that they work at Huawei.
A company spokesperson told Bloomberg that Huawei was not aware of a collaboration between employees and the military. "Huawei does not cooperate with the army," the spokesman emphasizes.
With this, the company stays with the statement it made earlier about alleged collaborations with the government.
It is not unusual for technology companies to cooperate with the military. For example, Microsoft is working on a HoloLens specially developed for US Army soldiers.
