The dress rehearsal for men's downhill competition at the Ski World Championships in Åre ended with a shocking moment for Norway's Rasmus Windingstad. The 25-year-old accelerated a few seconds after the start from the first left-hander, but then had to suddenly stop his ride.

The reason: Four workers in red coveralls were busy preparing the track on the track. The men blocked the track with snow shovels and saw Windingstad only when he had already started to brake. (Here you can see the incident in the video.)

Windingstad describes the situation in an interview with the Danish broadcaster TV 2 as a result of a lack of communication between those responsible. For him, the near miss was a terrible experience, said the ski racer. International Ski Federation Fis has not commented on the incident yet.
