Football: Juventus sign Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal

It's official: Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal after eleven years and play for Juventus from next season. There he has to prevail against Sami Khedira and Emre Can.

Juventus announced the transfer of midfielder Aaron Ramsey of Arsenal for next season. The 28-year-old signed with the Italian football champions record from July a valid four-year contract. The contract of Ramsey in London expires then, a transfer fee is not due.

As the newspaper "The Guardian" and the "BBC" report, Ramsey should then be the highest paid British footballer. In this both media agree, they are not the salary: According to "BBC" earned Ramsey future converted the equivalent of 456,000 euros per week, the "Guardian" writes of 342,000 euros.

Arsenal and Ramsey had long negotiated a contract extension before the club withdrew its bid in October 2018. The British media agree. Subsequently, Ramsey was associated with various European top clubs. The interest of FC Barcelona was to read, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich should have been interested. But the race was Juventus.

Competition for Can and Khedira

Ramsey moved from Cardiff City to Arsenal in 2008, where he played non-stop, with the exception of two short-term loans during the 2010-11 season. He won the FA Cup three times during this time and twice the Supercup. In the current season Ramsey came in the Premier League so far 22 times used and scored two goals. Overall, he made 361 mandatory games (62 goals) for Arsenal. A maximum of 21 games can be added before Ramsey moves to Turin.

There, Ramsey will compete with well-known players for the three places scheduled in the 4-3-3 of Juventus. Worth mentioning are Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and Rodrigo Bentancur, but also the two Germans in the service of Juventus, Sami Khedira and Emre Can.
