From the Champions League, all German representatives have retired, in the Europa League, the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt a quarter-finalist. The Frankfurt have drawn through a 1-0 (1-0) away win at Inter Milan in the second round of the second leg in the round of the last eight. Luka Jovic scored the winning goal in the fifth minute of the game with a soulful boost.

Even before Jovic's goal Eintracht had the chance to take the lead. A shot by Filip Kostic let go of inter-keeper Samir Handanovic forward. Sébastien Haller put the margin to the crossbar (3rd minute). Shortly thereafter, Jovic made use of a mistake by Stefan de Vrij, who wanted to play a long ball to his own goalkeeper, but put exactly in the run of Jovic. The Serbian did not miss the chance before Handanovic and scored his seventh goal in the current Europa League season (5th).

Since the teams had split in the first leg 0: 0, Inter would have had to score two goals by Eintracht's away goal to make it to the quarter-finals. The home side also had more game shares, worked against attentive Frankfurt but hardly dangerous chances to score. Instead, the guests came again and again to good counter-opportunities, but they could not use the second goal. Mijat Gacinovic (56th), Jovic (61st and 90th) and Kostic (65th and 78th) missed the best opportunities.

15,000 Frankfurt fans, who had already moved through Milan singing in the afternoon, celebrated their team as well as coach Adi Hütter, who had to watch the match from the stands. The Austrian had been suspended by the Uefa, after he had kicked in the first leg in anger against a water bottle.

For Eintracht it is the best performance in an international competition for 24 years. In the 1994/95 season, the Frankfurt had reached the quarterfinals of the Uefa Cup, but had failed there to Juventus.
