Also on the farewell tour of coach Pál Dárdai Hertha BSC looks further for the shape of the first round. After all, the defeat series of five bankruptcies in the Bundesliga ended the Berlin on Sunday: In the home game against bottom club Hannover 96, who had previously lost eight games in a row, Hertha but did not go beyond a 0-0.

Dárdai, who learned on Tuesday that he has to go after four and a half years at Hertha in summer, wants to say goodbye to at least ten. Currently, his team ranks eleventh, one point behind Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Hannover, who would have moved up to four points to VfB Stuttgart on the relegation place 16 with a victory in Berlin, can hardly make any hope of relegation with six points behind and four games remaining.

An extremely weak first half

The first 45 minutes of the game were difficult to endure: it was a match for no goals in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. Hertha tried to play neatly forward, but barely made it. Apart from a tight shot from right-back Lukas Klünter after 44 seconds, who went to the outside net and a header opportunity by Marko Grujic after a corner (22) Dárdai's team remained harmless.

Hannover was not so bad at work against the ball. But forward missed the team of coach Thomas Doll until just before the end of the first half any fantasy, how to score a goal. In the past eight consecutive defeats, 96 only managed five own goals (with 22 goals conceded).

But then Hannover was almost in the lead: Waldemar Anton appeared after a corner in the Berlin penalty area and forced Hertha goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to parade (45. + 1). At the subsequent corner, former Hertha Genki Haraguchi headed just over (45. + 2).

In half two, the game was slightly better: Ondrej Duda gave a good chance for Hertha after Vedad Ibisevic had released him (56.). It was the best chance of the game until Salomon Kalou fired in the penalty area, but 96-goalkeeper Michael Esser was able to parry (74 '). As substitute Davie Selke and Duda missed the winner in the penalty area and Kalou failed again twice, it remained 0-0.

It is still unclear who Pál Dárdai will inherit in summer. The "Bild-Zeitung" reports that Hertha should be interested in the commitment of 40-year-old Swiss Gerardo Seoane of Young Boys Bern. Manager Michael Preetz did not want to comment on Sunday.
