The 19-year-old grabbed his right knee and looked like he was in a lot of pain. Today, his club team Barcelona announces that he has injured his cruciate ligament.
Gavi will undergo surgery shortly and he will thus be out of action for an extended period of time.
Cruciate ligament injuries can lead to rehabilitation for up to ten months. That means the European Football Championship in Germany next summer could be in jeopardy for the Spanish 19-year-old.
