The first phase of ticket sales for the 2024 European Men's Football Championship in Germany has started. "We are very satisfied with the start of ticket sales," the organizing committee announced. "The interest from Germany, but also from all over the world, is enormous. Just three hours after launch, 3.1 million tickets from 142 countries were requested."
According to the organizing committee, the most popular game at the moment is the opening game. The first European Championship match will take place on 14 June 2024 in Munich – the final a month later in Berlin. "All systems are running smoothly," it continued. "The tickets are in high demand," said tournament ambassador Célia Šašić. "There will probably be a much, much higher number of applications than there are any tickets available at all." It would be a success "if we really celebrate a nice party," said the 35-year-old.
European Championship tournament director Philipp Lahm and Šašić had shot balls into the audience at an event at the Bürgerfest in Hamburg as part of the celebrations for the Day of German Unity, which are associated with a direct right to purchase two European Championship tickets. Fans usually have to apply for tickets on UEFA's website.
