She has received many calls from the media but does not want to give an interview and asks to be left alone.
"I feel good physically but am very shaken and need to land in what I have been through," Ekelund writes.
Ekelund made her breakthrough as a 16-year-old ten years ago when she won the U18 World Championships in the 200 meters in a time of 22.92, which is still a personal best.
During her career, she has been open about her mental illness and made a comeback this year with a few races. She ran the 200 meters in 24.66 at her best.
