A relegation-threatened AIK lost the derby against Djurgården last time out and were looking for revenge at home.

After a quarter of an hour of play, the team looked set to take the lead but the goal by Rui Modesto was, judging by the replay images, wrongly ruled out for offside.

But AIK cracked the clean sheet at the start of the second half through Ioannis Pittas. Pittas also put 2-0 on the counter-attack at the end of the match and became the big derby hero.

For AIK, the victory was the second straight, which keeps chasing Sirius and Degerfors in qualifying and relegation places respectively, at some distance.
