Jude Bellingham scored near the end of stoppage time, as Real Madrid beat Union Berlin 1-<> at the Santiago Bernabeu in Group C of the Champions League on Wednesday.

Real dominated play in the first half, but struggled to break through the Unión defence, which relied on a defensive organisation led by veteran Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci who joined this summer from Juventus.

The 14-time European champions started the second half better, Rodrygo twice came close to scoring, but goalkeeper Federic Ronov saved the first attempt, while the other shot bounced off the post.

The guard and the post stand in the face of the royal! 😮

Carlo Ancelotti's team continued to press, and the German team almost held out until the end, before midfielder Bellingham succeeded in exploiting confusion inside the box and scoring his sixth goal in 6 games.
