According to the press service of the Russian Curling Federation (FCR), the WCF reserves the right to reconsider this decision if necessary.

In March 2022, the WCF announced the suspension of athletes from Russia and Belarus from competitions.

On March 28, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that federations allow Russians who do not support the special military operation to compete as neutral athletes. At the same time, the organization proposed to refuse participation to athletes associated with the armed forces and security agencies, as well as national teams in team disciplines.

Earlier, the head of the IOC, Thomas Bach, said that Russian athletes may not get to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris if they are not allowed by the federations.
