Max Verstappen needed 17 laps on Sunday in Belgium, then he had worked his way up from sixth on the grid to the top in the Formula 1 race in Belgium. He didn't give up that position either, the Dutchman took his eighth win in a row and is on his way to his third world title.

An exchange of words over the radio provides amusement. "How about," Verstappen radioed as he hurried towards a commanding victory at the Belgian Grand Prix, "if I just come back into the pits? Then you can practice a bit." His engineer Gianpiero Lambiase countered the flippant remark with a "not this time" – and a little later took the world champion in his arms with a smile. The next race will not take place until the end of August in the Netherlands. This is what the international press writes.
