Messi takes next step at Inter Miami

Lionel Messi has signed his contract with MLS club Inter Miami, officially confirming his move to the United States. As the club around co-owner David Beckham announced, the superstar's new working paper is valid until 2025. On Sunday, the 36-year-old Argentinian will be unveiled at the Miami stadium.

"I'm very excited to start the next step in my career with Inter Miami and in the United States," said Messi, who is said to earn $60 million a season in Florida: "This is a fantastic opportunity, and together we will continue to expand this wonderful project."

Messi had last played for the French top club Paris St. Germain. After two unfortunate seasons in the French capital, the Argentine's contract expired on June 30. In addition to Inter Miami, his long-time club FC Barcelona and clubs from Saudi Arabia had courted Messi.

Kim's farewell is certain – but the goal?

SSC Napoli have come to terms with the imminent transfer of defender Min-jae Kim, who was traded as a new signing at FC Bayern Munich. He knows that "Kim will not stay with us any longer," said new SSC head coach Rudi Garcia. Although the coach did not name Munich as the central defender's goal, he already spoke about possible successors. "For me, there is no hurry. The most important thing is to find a defender who suits us best," Garcia said.

There has been speculation about Kim's transfer to Bayern for weeks. The 26-year-old South Korean is said to have already completed the medical check and received a five-year contract with the German football record champions. Kim allegedly has a release clause in his contract in Naples, the fixed transfer fee is 50 million euros, according to media reports.
