Novak Djokovic managed to defeat world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in four sets (6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1). Physically diminished, the Spaniard has not lived up to his ambitions and thus lets slip the Serb to his seventh final Porte d'Auteuil. He will try to win a record 23rd Grand Slam title.

Novak Djokovic on Friday qualified for the final of Roland Garros, where he will look to become the first man with 23 Grand Slam titles, by emerging victorious from the shock against world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, physically diminished from the third set of their semifinal. Djokovic won 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 in 3h23 min. Visibly suffering from cramps, the 20-year-old Spaniard suddenly lost his footing at the beginning of the third set, after two first sets of great intensity. The 36-year-old Serb will face in the final Sunday the world number 4 Casper Ruud or the German Alexander Zverev, former world number 2 now 27th, who face each other in the early evening.
