There are three months until the start of the Rugby World Cup in France, with eight days to go.
In an interview with NHK, Japan National Team head coach Jamie Joseph said, "We would like to strengthen our tackling at the domestic training camp starting this month."

The Rugby World Cup kicked off in France on 20 September with 9 teams, and the Japan, who reached the last eight for the first time on home soil, are aiming to surpass that.

On the 8th, three months until the opening of the tournament, Japan National Team Head Coach Joseph gave an interview to NHK and talked about the key points for future strengthening.

Head Coach Joseph, who has experienced two World Cups as a player and led Japan to the last eight for the first time in the last World Cup, expressed his expectation, saying, "The World Cup is special for both the players and the coaches.

On top of that, ahead of the training camp of the Japan National Team, which will start in Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture from 8 this month, he said, "I am looking forward to understanding the condition of the players, and first of all, I want to build up my body so that I can play for a long time."

He also mentioned tackling as a key point that he would like to improve when playing against strong overseas teams, and explained, "Traditionally Japan players are good at low tackles, but in modern rugby, even if you are too low, you can pass to the opponent.

World No. 4 Japan will be in Pool D in the first round of the World Cup, where they will face world No. 3 and defending World champions England, World No. 8 Argentina, World No. 2 Samoa and World No. 8 Chile.

The top two teams from Pool A to Pool D of the first round will advance to the playoffs, with the final taking place on 12 October in Saint-Denis, near Paris.
