German club Borussia Dortmund announced on Wednesday that its England international midfielder Jude Bellingham will move to Real Madrid in a deal exceeding 100 million euros ($ 107 million).

Dortmund confirmed that the two teams had reached a "mutual agreement" on the 19-year-old's transfer in the summer. The German club said it would receive a fee of 103 million euros plus a variable amount "up to a total maximum of around 30 percent" of the fixed transfer fee, based on team and player bonuses.

According to press information, the player will sign a contract with the "Merengue" extends for 6 years until the summer of 2029.

One of the most promising talents in world football, Bellingham joined Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020 for €25 million.

The young Englishman made 132 appearances for the German club, scoring 24 goals and winning the German Cup in 2021.

Bellingham was named Bundesliga Player of the Year for the 2022-2023 season, helping Dortmund move closer to their first league title in more than a decade. But the team ended their season second behind Bayern Munich on goal difference.

Billingham made his England debut at the age of 17 and was a key player for the Three Lions at Qatar 2022, making all five appearances, scoring a goal and assisting another en route to the quarter-finals when they bid farewell to runners-up France.

With this €134 million deal, the England international is fifth in the list of the most expensive deals in football history and is preceded by only 4 players:

  • Brazilian Neymar from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain: 222 million euros.
  • Frenchman Kylian Mbappe from Monaco to PSG: €180m.
  • Frenchman Ousmane Dembele from Dortmund to Barcelona: €140m.
  • Brazilian Felipe Coutinho from Liverpool to Barcelona: €135m.
