Argentine star Lionel Messi announced that he will move to the American club Inter Miami, after the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the last season 2022-2023.

Messi said in an interview with the Catalan newspapers "SPORT" and "Mundo Deportivo" (Mundo Deportivo), that he made his decision and chose to defend the colors of the Inter Miami team, although his desire was to return to Barcelona, with whom he achieved legendary successes.

"After winning the World Cup and not being able to return to Barcelona, it's time to go to Miami to live football in a different way and enjoy my daily life more," he said.

"He's going with the same responsibility and desire to win, to do things well, but with more calmness."

He pointed out that the agreement with Inter Miami was not fully completed, and some details remained before concluding the contract with him.

"I was very excited to return, but after the experience of my exit two years ago, I did not want to repeat the same situation and wait for what will happen and mortgage my fate and future in the hands of others."

The Argentine star stressed that the financial factor had no role in his decision, adding: "If it was about money, I would have gone to Saudi Arabia or anywhere else. I was offered a lot of money, but I chose Inter Miami."

"I leave Europe even though I received several offers from European teams, but I did not study them, because my goal in Europe is to return to Barcelona," he concluded.
