Manchester City's Algerian star Riyad Mahrez was quick to respond to a tweet criticising his appearance during the team's FA Cup celebrations.

Manchester City combined the two domestic championships in England by beating neighbors Manchester United in the cup final – which was held last Saturday at Wembley Stadium – 2-1.

A journalist posted a video showing Manchester City players celebrating after the game, as Mahrez slowly walked towards them.

This journalist explained Mahrez's behavior as being dissatisfied with his current situation not to participate in the final, as the Spanish Pep Guardiola preferred City coach to involve his teammate Bernardo Silva instead, according to the site "Give Me Sport" British.

Mahrez scoffed at this explanation, reposting the video on his official Twitter account and commenting on it: "Another act that explains why you pay money to verify your account, does not make you a person worthy of praise."

Another good example of why paying for being verified doesn't give your bs any credit 😂 Me taking the time to answer your tweet should tell you more about the situation than me not running on a video lol.. next time just sit back and enjoy 😆🤫 https://t.co/ypUEjFJAlW

After Mahrez's response, that journalist deleted his tweet, which read: "Watch Mahrez, obviously he is disappointed that he did not play today, he is not interested in celebrating too much with his teammates."

Meanwhile, the same website reported that Mahrez is frustrated with sitting on the bench in recent Citizens matches.

Mahrez made 47 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions last season, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists.

A few days ago, Mahrez was crowned the Premier League title for the fifth time in its history and the fourth in the shirt of Manchester City, which made him the most Arab and African player to achieve this achievement.

Mahrez and his team can end the current season in a very perfect way if Manchester City beat Inter Milan in the final match of the Champions League scheduled for Saturday, the tenth of June / June at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
