In just over an hour of play, Ons Jabeur dismissed Pera. She will face Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Maia (14th) or Spain's Sara Sorribes (132nd), who are also playing their eighth final on Monday. This was the third clash between the two players on the WTA Tour. Ons Jabeur won the first in Daytona Beach in 2016 and Bernarda Pera the second in Guangzhou in 2019.

Finalist of Wimbledon and the US Open last year, the 28-year-old, who is still chasing her first Major, had never gone beyond the knockout stages so far at Porte d'Auteuil.

Last year, the Tunisian player was even eliminated as soon as she entered the competition. This year, she struggled in only one match, against Olga Danilovic (4-6, 6-4, 6-2) in the third round. Ons Jabeur was then mentally strong enough to overcome the amazing Serbian player ranked 105th in the world. "I will try to continue the dream. Roland-Garros is a tournament that is close to my heart and a Grand Slam that I have always dreamed of winning with the great players," she said after her fight against Danilovic.

«

I hope to serve even better in the next game. Thank you to all the crowd, it was a very important match. I will continue to play better and I hope you will be present, "she said in front of the spectators after her eighth final against Benarda Pera.
