After dissatisfaction over a verdict, Miyu Kato and Aldila Sutjiadi began arguing with the judge. Shortly thereafter, Kato sent a ball – which hit a ball girl.

The ball girl began to cry, and the match was canceled. The player stepped forward and apologized, and the referee initially issued a warning for the action.

According to Reuters, however, opponents Marie Bouzkova and Sara Sorribes Toromo protested, leading to Kato and Sutjiadi being disqualified.

Like the ball girl, Kato then left the tennis court in tears.

Bouzkova and Sorribes Toromo won the first set 7–6. The match was interrupted at the score of 3–1 to Kato and Sutjiadi in the second set.
