Asensio leaves Real Madrid – transfer to PSG is on the table

Marco Asensio joined the "Royals" eight years ago with the advance praise of Spain's former national team coach Vicente del Bosque, who described him as "the greatest talent there is in Spain". For a long time, however, he was left with only the role of a noble reservist. Now he is leaving the club and is being linked with Paris Saint-Germain.

In the current season, the Spaniard has played in 50 competitive games (twelve goals, eight assists), but has only played 18 times from the start under coach Carlo Ancelotti. In the previous season, there were 23 starting eleven appearances in 42 competitive games (twelve goals, two assists).

The 27-year-old has rejected all offers for a contract extension, as reported by the Spanish newspapers »As« and »El Chiringuito«. Asensio is said to be in the final negotiations with PSG for a four- or five-year contract.

Ramos ends his "unforgettable adventure" at Paris Saint-Germain

Former Spain international Sergio Ramos will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season after two years. This was announced by the French club. The centre-back had arrived in 2021 from Real Madrid, where he is said to have only been offered a one-year contract after many injuries and therefore fell short of an agreement with the club he had been playing for for 16 years.

Ramos did not achieve his big goal of winning the Champions League with PSG. However, the 37-year-old spoke of an "unforgettable adventure" at PSG. In his two years in Paris, he won two league titles and the French Super Cup. Ramos made 44 appearances for PSG this season, scoring three goals.

Club boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi thanked the former World and European champion and wished him all the best for the future. Probably his last game for PSG is this Saturday in front of a home crowd against Clermont Foot.

Götze extends contract with Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of schedule

Mario Götze and his team will face RB Leipzig in the DFB Cup final in Berlin on Saturday evening (20 p.m./TV: ZDF/live ticker: SPIEGEL.de). Before that, the 30-year-old sent a signal of his affiliation with the Hessians: He extended his contract, which expires in 2025, by another year until 2026. This was announced by the club on Friday evening.

The international, who moved back to Germany from PSV Eindhoven from the Netherlands in 2022, thus creates planning security at an early stage. Götze made 45 appearances for the cup finalists across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing ten assists.

"I have taken the club and the city to my heart. I see myself here in the future and want to provide clarity with my early contract extension. I am still firmly convinced of Eintracht's great potential," he said.

1. FC Köln interested in striker Hollerbach

Yesterday evening, Benedict Hollerbach drew attention to himself with a sprint across half the pitch and a goal. The Wehen Wiesbaden attacker was one of the best players in the relegation first leg against Arminia Bielefeld (4-0) and contributed to the 3-0 victory with his goal. As a result, Wehen Wiesbaden has one foot in the Second Bundesliga.

For Hollerbach, however, it could soon go to the Bundesliga instead of the second Bundesliga. According to »Kicker«, he is on the vergeof a move to 1. The 22-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, but is expected to be extended in the event of promotion. Then a transfer fee would be due. It is said to be in the low six-digit range.

In the past third division season, the 22-year-old scored 14 times and set up five more goals. The transfer could also be the result of FC coach Steffen Baumgart's friendship with Wiesbaden's sporting director Nico Schäfer. Baumgart has been a frequent guest at SV Wehen games in the past.
