US tennis pro Taylor Fritz turned the French crowd against him in his second-round win against local hero Arthur Rinderknech at the French Open. Immediately after the converted match point, the 25-year-old repeatedly put his index finger to his lips late on Thursday evening in Paris.

For this, the American was loudly booed, the winner's interview with former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli could not begin for a long time because of the expressions of displeasure.

"I love you, I love you," Fritz mocked in his answer to the only question about the 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4. They pushed me so hard that I wanted to make sure I win." Girlfriend Morgan Riddle captured the scene with the camera from the stands.

The spectators had already cheered on Rinderknech during the game and turned against Fritz. The world number eight had to wait again and again with his serve in the last set because the spectators did not want to calm down.
