At least because of one issue, FC Bayern no longer has to worry: the championship trophy that was damaged at the victory celebration on the balcony of Munich's town hall on Sunday was only a copy. When asked by ran.de, the German Football League (DFL) confirmed that it was only a replica. The valuable original had been waiting in Dortmund on Saturday – famously in vain – for its use.
According to the "Bild" newspaper, it was Joshua Kimmich who damaged the bowl during the championship celebration. According to their report, however, the international had already hoped "that it would be the copy. Otherwise we'll have a problem...« An outer part of the shell had "just fallen off here," Kimmich is said to have joked to reporters. It's just wear and tear...«
