Chelsea have a messy season in the Premier League behind them. Three head coaches have led the team in the form of Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, without achieving the desired sporting results.

For next season, Mauricio Pochettino will lead the team. The club will announce this the day after the end of the season. He has signed a two-year contract with an option for another one.

"Mauricio's experience, high standards, leadership qualities and character will be good for Chelsea going forward. He is a winning coach who has worked at the highest level in several leagues and in several languages. His ethos, tactical outlook and commitment to development have made him an exceptional candidate," the club's sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said in a statement.

Chelsea finished twelfth in the Premier League.
