The final round of the English Premier League football, on Sunday, was full of excitement and prolific goals (33 goals), losing Manchester City crowned champions and Leicester City relegated to the second division despite a 2-1 win over West Ham United.

The 38th and final round of the Premier League saw Manchester City defeat 1-5 to Brentford, Arsenal won 4-4 over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Liverpool drew 1-1 with Southampton, Newcastle United drew 2-1 with Chelsea, and Manchester United overturned its delay to a <>-<> victory at home to Fulham.

Leicester City were relegated to the second division despite a 2-1 win over West Ham United, after Everton beat Bournemouth 1-1, and Leeds were relegated after losing 4-<> at home to Tottenham.

Aston Villa secured a return to Europe and participation in next season's Conference League with a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Loss of the hero

At Griffin Park, Ethan Pinnock scored near the end to give Brentford a 1-<> win over champions Manchester City.

Despite the victory, Brentford failed to reach the Europa Conference League, settling for ninth place.

Pinnock found the net after a pass from Brian Mbimo with 5 minutes to go.

Substitute Erling Haaland (City striker) was not involved while Kevin De Bruyne was left out of the line-up.

Pep Guardiola's side failed to create scoring chances, but almost snatched an equaliser in stoppage time.

Cole Palmer struck twice into Pinnock's body, then Ben Mi cleared a ball from City's attack off the line to make Brentford the only team to beat City on and off the road this season.

Firmino bids farewell to Liverpool with a crazy draw

Roberto Firmino made his mark on his last appearance for Liverpool, scoring in a crazy 4-4 draw against relegated Southampton.

The Brazilian scored to give Liverpool a 2-14 lead in the <>th minute, after teammate Diogo Jota scored the first goal early.

But Southampton rallied spectacularly and scored through James Ward-Prowse and Kamaluddin Suleymana to equalise before the break.

Solimana scored again early in the second half, and Southampton's Adam Armstrong took advantage of a mistake to make it 4-2 for the hosts.

Liverpool, who qualified for next season's Europa League after finishing fifth, recovered and scored twice in the space of almost a minute, with Cody Jacpo scoring from close range, and then Jota scoring his second goal.

Arsenal sweep Wolves

Granit Xhaka scored twice to lead Arsenal to a 5-7 win over Wolves in what could be his last game after seven years with the club.

Arsenal topped the league table for most of the season but have slipped in their last eight games, allowing Manchester City to win the title for the third time in a row.

The London-based club ended the season on a fine note, with striker Gabriel Jesus sending in a cross that Xhaka converted with a header into goal to put his side ahead after 11 minutes in their 297th game for the club.

Three minutes later, Xhaka, who was close to leaving Arsenal in 3 after an altercation with fans, added the second goal with a close-range shot.

Xhaka squandered a golden chance to complete his hat-trick before Bukayo Saka made it 3-<> with a superb shot.

Gabriel Jesus scored the fourth goal after the break, while Jakub Kevior added a fifth with 12 minutes to go.

United rise up and jump to third place

Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes found the net to turn Manchester United behind to win 2-1 at Fulham and finish third.

Fulham took the lead with a header from Kenny Tite after a corner kick from Willian in the 19th minute.

Seven minutes later, the London club missed the chance to double their advantage when goalkeeper David De Gea saved a penalty from Aleksandar Mitrovic.

United took the lead, and Sancho equalised from close range in the 39th minute.

Fred sent a superb pass to Fernandes, who found the back of the net to complete United's comeback 10 minutes into the second half.

The result will not change anything, as United remained in third place, while Fulham came tenth to finish in the top half of the table for the first time since 2012.

Leicester and Leeds relegated to the second division

Leicester City were relegated to the second division despite a 2-1 win over West Ham United, after Everton beat Bournemouth 1-<> in the final round of the Premier League today.

Leicester, who rose in 2014 and won the league title in a resounding surprise in 2016, finished eighth with 34 points, two behind Everton, and Leicester were relegated with Southampton and Leeds United.

Harvey Barnes scored Leicester's lead in the 34th minute, and Wout Weiss added the second goal in the 62nd minute, but celebrations were interrupted after fans learned of Everton's lead by a goal in the other match.

Pablo Fornals reduced the deficit in the 79th minute, but Everton's win ended Leicester's hopes of survival.

Leeds were also relegated after losing at home 1-4 to Tottenham Hotspur, who scored twice through Harry Kane.

Leeds return to the second division after 3 years in the League of Lights.

Pedro Borrow and Lucas Moura also scored goals for eighth-placed Tottenham, but failed to qualify for next season's Europa Conference League. Leeds' only goal came from Jack Harrison.
