In the domestic biathlon, preparations for the new season have just begun, and scandals around the national team arise one after another. The first was associated with the formation of the composition of the Russian national team. It did not include Alexander Loginov and Anton Babikov - both preferred individual work. For various reasons, Kristina Reztsova, Svetlana Mironova, Ulyana Nigmatullina and Victoria Slivko will have to train on their own.

The situation is a bit strange, since athletes who are not included in the lists are deprived of funding from the Center for Sports Training of the National Teams of Russia (CSP), and the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) is not ready to pay the athletes' expenses.

"They will have to solve this issue with the help of regional organizations, personal or sponsorship money," explained the head of the union, Viktor Maigurov, in an interview with Match TV.

However, as it turned out, the financial well-being of those biathletes who were included in the national team may also be at risk. They will be paid to prepare for the season, but there may be problems with the salary. According to commentator Dmitry Guberniev, who became the main newsmaker of the offseason, Larisa Kuklina, Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov and Evgeny Emerkhonov did not receive a bet in the CSP. A little later, he supplemented the list with Elizaveta Kaplina, Vasily Tomshin, Ksenia Dovga, Alina Kudisova and Ivan Kolotov. Moreover, the last five athletes have already started training in Sochi.

"At the same time, they got into the team! We perfectly pulled up the juniors at the expense of those who honestly earned a place in the national team! The Ministry of Sports, the CSP - we are waiting for a reaction," Guberniev wrote in the Telegram channel.

Information about Emerkhonov was confirmed by the head of the Tatarstan Biathlon Federation Ildar Nugmanov. According to him, the leadership of the RBU decided to distribute the rates in such a way as to support young people.

"Zhenya was left without a salary in the national team. Pavel Rostovtsev (Vice-President of the RBU for Sports. - RT) explained that they have certain criteria and the athlete does not fall into them. He also said that if everything is fine according to the results, from January 1 he can qualify for a bet. At the same time, six juniors were given it. In my opinion, this is not very correct. And Grukhvina switched from skiing, "Match TV quotes Nugmanov as saying.

The athletes themselves were confused by the current situation. As Mukhamedzyanov said, until May 24, he was sure that everything was in order. The biathlete was counting on a salary, because at the starts in Izhevsk and Tchaikovsky, which were considered the main ones last season, he won gold, silver and bronze.

"I decided to ask Rostovtsev directly what were the criteria for athletes' bets in the CSP, to which he replied: their number is limited. And, according to the criteria, I don't pass... At the same time, according to Rostovtsev, all the coaches had information. And the fact that they did not stand up for me is a mistake of our mentors, and no one can help me anymore ... This whole story lasts four days, but there is no progress. Yesterday I asked Pavel where to go next, because I went through all the instances: the RBU, the CSP - well, where? Who will help me? The answer was: "I don't know, I can't help you," Ilnaz admitted.

At the same time, according to the biathlete, the coaches assure that they did not discuss the rates of the members of the Russian national team.

"I talked to all the specialists, explained the situation. To which Yuri Mikhailovich Kaminsky expressed his indignation. He added that together with all the coaches, they discussed only the composition of the teams. They did not discuss the lists of those who will be put on the salary," Mukhamedzyanov said.

However, the RBU assures the opposite and is surprised by the noise raised. According to the chairman of the coaching council Vladimir Bragin, the issue was resolved by specialists in the 20th of April: Rostovtsev sent information to the working group in WhatsApp for coaches that 48 bets are allocated for 32 people (16 - the main and 32 - junior staff). Since last season six was given to young people, we decided to do the same this time. In addition, the salary was provided to the former skier Anna Grukhvina.

"This issue may be a bit political. When we invite a person from the cross-country skiing team to biathlon, there should be guarantees for this. I don't know, but it is possible that when we discussed the transition, these guarantees were," Bragin said.

As for the remaining bets for the main squad, they were distributed as follows: three were reserved for the Olympic medalists who missed the season. Also, the first three athletes from the men's and women's ratings, four who scored the most points at the main starts of the season in Izhevsk and Tchaikovsky, as well as the best juniors, will receive a salary.

"The remaining six were planned to be distributed among the athletes who entered the main squad from ninth to 16th places ... I wrote that if they do not go to the main place of work, but to part-timers, then these rates should be given to juniors who will go to the main ... It's all in the group. That's where we stopped," the specialist said.

Perhaps it was this criterion - the presence of another place of work - that became largely decisive for a number of athletes. Judging by the comments, Emerkhonov and Mukhmedzyanov have financial support from the regions. So, Ilnaz planned to spend money on equipment and considered the salary in the CBP as an additional source of income.

"For the last four years, I have been buying all this myself, and it comes out quite expensive. Every year I spend about half a million rubles on skis, boots and everything else," the athlete added.

According to Bragin, with whom many will probably disagree, such biathletes should give others the opportunity to earn money in the CSP.

"We have not canceled contracts with CSKA, agreements at the place of residence. And now the pension fund has been merged with the social ... Whoever comes to the main place in Moscow at the CSPB, he, of course, will receive a bet. But when they say that they will work part-time, the person, apparently, receives a salary somewhere else. As for juniors, I immediately said: who will go to work in the CSP, then there can not even be questions that part-time. If you receive a salary in the region, then get it there, since it suits you. This is not additional money, but a salary. That's why we got juniors who are absolutely empty," Bragin explained.

Guberniev was not satisfied with these arguments. The commentator appealed to the Russian Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation with a request to understand the situation and once again recalled the story about Maigurov's diploma.

"Will you endure this biathlon lawlessness for a long time? Is it possible to forge documents, ignore a court decision, expel athletes and invite illegitimate people to work? Now the main selection for the national team is the vice-president for sports glasses, who was expelled from everywhere, and he found a job in Moscow thanks to his friend Maigurov, "the journalist noted.

At the same time, according to Guberniev, the main problem is that everyone in the biathlon community prefers to remain silent. In particular, he reacted painfully to Maigurov's words about communicating with the heads of regional federations. At the meeting, he commented on the story of the diploma, and from the participants of the event, according to him, there were no questions.

"Do I understand correctly that the professional community is a silent and question-free jopolis? And the court, the prosecutor's office and the public are an unprofessional bunch of incomprehensible people?" the commentator was indignant in his Telegram channel.

As for the athletes, according to Guberniev, they are under pressure, so biathletes are simply afraid to speak out.

"The situation is very simple: the rescue of drowning people is the work of the drowning people themselves. I can highlight the topic, but everyone is really silent. They write to me thanking me for their support, but no one speaks out publicly, while the truth is on their side," the journalist said.

And two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasilyev noted another problem: the RBU did not explain anything to the members of the Russian national team, so there was a misunderstanding and a new scandal.

"Everything is done surreptitiously. Decisions are made on the sly, after which everyone begins to loudly discuss this problem. That's not what serious leaders do. Usually punks do it, "Sport24 quotes Vasiliev as saying.

The situation is really ambiguous. On the one hand, the RBU talks about the need to support the regions. According to Maigurov, they are allocated funds annually. At the same time, by its decisions, the organization throws on them the financial burden of preparing the main Russian national team - this applies to athletes who have not received a bet, and those who will train individually.

The indignation of the deprived biathletes is also quite understandable. After all, they still look at the situation differently: all last season, athletes won places in the national team, including for the sake of additional income. And representatives of the RBU in this case should not care where else they receive their salaries. As Nugmanov noted, Tatarstan will help Eremkhonov, but all this is wrong.

"Regions are regions, and there should also be a rate. He deserved it! Zhenya was fourth at the championship three times," the specialist said.

The strangest thing about everything that happens was the denouement. According to the same Guberniev, the CSP has not yet seen any documents and lists on biathletes who will receive a salary. The organization should receive them next week.

"There are no signatures, nothing has been approved yet. The SBU again ran ahead of the locomotive, "the commentator said.
