Bayern Munich crowned the Bundesliga title dramatically after beating its host Cologne 2-1 and Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 with Mainz on Saturday in the last 34 round of the Bundesliga.

Bayern won the title after surpassing Dortmund on goal difference after the two teams were equal in total points with a total of 71 points each.

Dortmund needed to beat Mainz in order to win the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2012, but drew dramatically, to give Bayern Munich its 11th consecutive title in the domestic league and 32nd in the name of the new championship (Bundesliga) and 33rd in the Bundesliga in general.

The Bavarian team ended the season in the lead with 71 points, ahead of runners-up Dortmund on goal difference, to avoid coming out empty-handed from the current season's competition after being eliminated from the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the German Cup.

At the Rhein Energy Stadion, Bayern Munich beat Cologne by two goals to one.

Kingsley Coman advanced with a goal for the Bavarian club in the eighth minute and then Dejan Ljubisic equalized for Cologne from the penalty spot in the 80th minute, but Jamal Musiala snatched the winning goal for Bayern one minute before the end.

At the "Signal Iduna Park" stadium, Mainz advanced with two goals signed by Andreas Hansch Olsen (15) and Karim Onisio (24), then Rafael Guerrero responded with a goal for Dortmund in the 69th minute after Sebastian Hillier missed a penalty in the 19th minute.

In stoppage time, Niklas Schulle equalized for Dortmund, but a point was not enough to clinch the title.
