The agent of French striker Karim Benzema, Real Madrid, revealed the secret of the player's suffering during the club's match against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

Benzema contributed to Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Rayo in yesterday's match at the Santiago Bernabeu for matchday 36 of La Liga.

Benzema did not celebrate much with his goal that put Real Madrid ahead in the 31st minute, and the pain was evident on his face.

The 35-year-old Frenchman completed the match to the end despite appearing in more than one shot limping and feeling severe pain, with Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti preferring to keep him on the pitch.

Karim Jaziri, Benzema's agent, posted a photo and video on his official Twitter account revealing the secret of his client's pain.

In the tweet, Benzema's severely injured foot was visible, as so much blood bled that doctors had to suture the wound.

These cuts did not give Benzema freedom to run during the match, and his foot needed 5 stitches in order to close the wound, according to the Spanish site "Relevo".

"Yesterday, 10 minutes after the start of the game, one of the opponents stepped on Benzema's foot, but as usual he didn't say anything or complain, and he played the whole game with pain. He even managed to score!"

According to "Relivo", the injury occurred in the 15th minute when the ball reached Benzema from teammate Toni Kroos, and he received it with his back.

At that time Florent Legon, Rayo Vallecano's defender, wanted to cut the ball but instead stepped on Karim's foot, and from then the Frenchman's problems began on the pitch.

With his goal against Rayo Vallecano, Benzema took his tally of goals in La Liga to 18, to maintain the glimmer of hope in the race for the top scorer award (Pichichi), as he reduced the gap to 5 goals with Poland's Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona striker, two rounds before the end of the league.
