Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has bowed to Allah after scoring the winning goal, causing great joy in the Arab world. The Portuguese striker executed the typical posture of Muslim prayer after putting his Saudi team in the lead, according to Arab media. Al-Nassr were initially 0-2 down in Tuesday night's match, but eventually won 3-2 against Al-Shabab thanks to Ronaldo's goal.

Videos on social networks show Ronaldo kneeling on the grass surrounded by his teammates and touching the ground with his hands and head. Muslims believe that it is in this position, called Sudschud, that they come closest to God. It is always carried out in the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca in Saudi Arabia, which is considered the central sanctuary of Islam. Many Muslim footballers also use the gesture to thank God after successful shots on goal.

Arab fans were thrilled with Ronaldo's Sudschud. On social media, some even expressed the hope that the 38-year-old could convert to Islam. Others interpreted the bow as a gesture of respect for Muslim believers.

Rumours of Ronaldo's desire to move

Meanwhile, the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Ronaldo wanted to leave Saudi Arabia as soon as possible because he could no longer stand the situation in the country. He himself has not yet commented on the situation or his life in the strictly conservative Gulf state.

Ronaldo signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Saudi club six months ago. According to media reports, he will receive the equivalent of around 200 million euros per season, including advertising revenue. His club Al-Nassr is currently in second place in the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Ittihad leading the table. The most recent 3-2 win came against third-placed Al-Shabab.
