There were a couple of strange incidents in the first half. Hammarby's goalkeeper Oliver Dovin received a serious blow to the head in a close fight and was treated by IFK Göteborg's doctor, Hammarby did not bring his own. The IFK doctor made the decision that Dovin would retire from the match, which Dovin was not happy with. He wanted to continue standing and was sent back off Hammarby's bench.

After a long discussion, Dovin was finally replaced by Davor Blazevic in the Bajen goal.

Before that, Dovin had teamed up with Edvin Kurtulus, who mistakenly thought the ball had been out, put it right with his hand for a kick-out. Kurtulus became hesitant when he saw the situation on television replays at the half-time break.

"Very fishy"

"I thought the ball was outside and grabbed it with my hand, very fishy, I didn't know about it. Surely it should be punishment? I don't know," Kurtulus said on Discovery's broadcast.

In the second half, Kurtulus was sent off after receiving his second yellow card for tearing down Marcus Berg near the penalty area. The free kick was taken a couple of decimetres outside the penalty area line.

A couple of minutes before the end, Berg scored the penalty for 1-1 and then the Blue and White pushed for a winning goal against the decimated Hammarby during seven extra minutes.

Hammarby's 1-0 came after an awkward intervention by Blåvitt's goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg who did not get the ball away when boxing and then got it between the hands of Loret Sadiku's rather loose shot.
